Artist, Nail technician, and Cosmetologist

I have been a hair and nail designer for over 30 years and still going strong. I graduated from Rob Roy Academy in Worcester, Massachusetts. in 1996 and have been doing what I love ever since. I owned my own salon from 2004 to 2012. Currently, I work at Polished Hair and Nail Gallery with an amazing group of people. One of my favorite pastimes has been doing hand-painted nail art, which over time has evolved into stamping and other artistic modalities. Writing

I began writing after having some amazing experiences with people who taught me to see the world in a new way. This, combined with my own journey through some very dark and shadowy places, helped me emerge with a new sense of self-empowerment. I wrote a book called In the Shadow of 13 Moons, first released in 2010 under Lewellyn and then in 2023 under Crossed Crow Books. Though I write in the framework of the occult, I do not strictly consider myself to be a witch or a pagan but rather a priestess of all things spiritual. I prefer to think of myself as a perpetual student, and I have trained in a variety of spiritual paths in my life. I never stop learning new things!

I have been featured in several magazines, including The Portal and Lewellyn’s yearly Almanac. My future books will also likely be focused on the spiritual practices of paganism because, like art, it is the lens through which I feel the most comfortable expressing my thoughts and ideas. My focus is largely on self-healing and personal empowerment. In this same line, I also teach some classes that are based online and in person (when time allows), which also focus on self-awareness and personal empowerment.

Tarot

As if that were not enough (ha, ha, ha), I am also a tarot reader. I have been reading tarot for almost 30 years. You can see a sample of my work on my YouTube Channel @kimberlysherman-cook9424. My readings often focus on the cycles of life and sometimes the moon. I use the tarot as a tool to help guide people to better career paths, life choices, and life balance.
